Eligibility guidelines for screening mammography:
• 35+ years old
• Not breastfeeding (at least 6 months post-breastfeeding)
• No breast problems such as distinct lumps, nipple discharge, redness or enlarged breasts
• Can use the clinic stairs and stand for 10–15 minutes without help
If you meet all the guidelines above, please check with your insurance provider before screening for
plan eligibility and coverage for a 2D or 3D screening mammogram. Prisma Health will not be
responsible for any bills from this service.
Follow these four guidelines to prepare for your mammogram: Wear a two-piece outfit. Do not put
lotion or powder on your breasts or underarms. Do not wear perfume. Apply deodorant sparingly.
